Spiritual Care Australia 2020

Roads Less Travelled: Spiritual Care in the 21st Century

You are invited to attend the 2020 Spiritual Care Australia National Conference in Sydney, 28 June - 1 July 2020.

The “roads less travelled” invites us to reflect on the directions taken when navigating and providing spiritual care for clients, consumers and patients across a broad range of contexts.

As spiritual carers working within complex spaces of the 21st century, several themes emerge which help shape the direction, collaboration and quality of our care giving:

  • Navigating the terrain
  • Companions along the way
  • Obstacles across the road
  • Safe arrivals and departures
  • Where to from here?
  • Roads less travelled

This year’s conference will offer keynote speakers, workshops and seminars, and opportunities to share with colleagues and friends old and new from around the country.

And the day before – Saturday, 27 June – there’s a chance to take a deep dive into research at a related intensive workshop sponsored by our friends at Meaningful Ageing and Spiritual Health Association and others. CLICK HERE for more information and to register.

Anyone engaging in spiritual care is welcome to attend – whether you work in aged care, community care, congregational care, crisis / emergency, defence, education, general health care, mental health, prisons, sports, or any sector.

We expect all presentations will help us focus on these streams:

  • Research and quality improvement;
  • Consumer engagement and experience;
  • Self-care;
  • Models of spiritual care, including innovation;
  • Ethics in spiritual care, including in research and in end-of-life care.

Plan to join us, and check this website regularly for updates.

Looking forward to seeing you in Sydney in June 2020!
