Meet the Speaker
Phil has over 20 years fundraising experience at the local, national and international level including Red Cross (Australia and Switzerland), Oxfam (UK), The Smith Family, Kids Under Cover and QUT. For the last 6 years he has been managing the Gifts in Wills program at Cancer Council Queensland and he has recently returned from Scotland where he joined fellow Legacy fundraisers from around the world to discuss the future of all things Gifts in Wills.
Renae is currently the Acting General Manager – Community Engagement for Guide Dogs Queensland and has held the role of Philanthropy Manager – Gifts in Wills for the past three and a half years. During her 11+ years in the not for profit space she has worked for small and large charities and has held roles in Corporate Partnerships, Major Gifts and Prospect Research, Data Management, Individual Giving, Marketing and Communications, and Community Fundraising. Prior to fundraising roles, Renae worked in marketing and sponsorship for RACQ.
Having recently achieved her CFRE, Renae is committed to the continual professional advancement of fundraising. Renae was involved in establishing the Australian chapter of Apra International (Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement) and was on the first ever Apra Australia conference in 2016. Renae has a Postgraduate Certificate in Philanthropy and Non-Profit Studies from QUT’s ACPNS and sits on the ACPNS Alumni committee.
Jim Green is a nonprofit professional with over 19 years of experience in community engagement and fundraising. As the GM: Fundraising at RSPCA Queensland, Jim aims to inspire a large community of support and foster long-term relationships with donors to achieve positive change for animals in need. Jim holds a Master of Business (Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies) from QUT and is passionate about leveraging gifts in Wills to maximise charitable impact. With a keen eye on emerging trends and opportunities, Jim is working to position RSPCA QLD to benefit from the predicted growth in gifts in Wills over the next 10-15 years.
