Kia ora, welcome to Southern SaaS 2022

What is Southern SaaS?

An annual event in its fourth year, Southern SaaS brings together movers and shakers of New Zealand’s thriving SaaS industry to connect, inspire, and upskill. Southern SaaS 2022 is an interactive event to bring together SaaS business founders, leaders, and executive teams for two days of expert speakers, useful workshops, and valuable industry networking.

Southern SaaS 2022 is a hybrid event, and we’ve created registration options to attend both in-person at the Aotea Centre, Auckland, or online for those who are unable to attend physically. Due to COVID-19 alert levels, Southern SaaS is now scheduled to be held on 23 and 24 March 2022.

Who should attend?

Is your software business the next game-changer? Do you need help scaling up your business for global growth? Are you knee-deep capital raising? Do you want to connect with ambitious SaaS founders and like-minded investors? Southern SaaS is for you!

Check out highlights and key insights from Southern SaaS 2020 here.

“A wide variety of useful content, largely from credible practitioners. Online format was a good thing from my perspective, making the perceived burden/opportunity cost smaller while allowing a wider variety of options of session.”
“For future events I’d like to see more of the same, leveraging what has already been done in the NZ market to build upon.”
“This is the best and most relevant business focused event I have been to. The speakers on day 1 were inspirational, interesting and relevant. The sessions on day 2 were awesome - some of these could probably go on longer. Good opportunity for networking. I was really pleased that I bought my ticket!"

In person registrations have sold out. If you’d like to be added to the waitlist please register here. Virtual registrations are still available, and will close at 12noon on Wednesday 16 March, unless sold out prior.

Yes, once you receive confirmation of your registration for the March event you can make changes to your workshop and 1:1 appointment selections using the modify registration link. Any changes must be made prior to 12noon on Wednesday 16 March.

If you can’t make the new March date, either in-person or virtually, we will provide a refund. The organisers of Southern SaaS are committed to delivering a safe event under the COVID-19 Protection Framework.

The following COVID-safe provisions have been implemented. We ask for your help in making Southern SaaS 2022 a COVID-safe event through these simple but effective measures:

Virtual attendance
Join the event remotely if feeling unwell, or alert levels change.

Vaccine passes
To meet the health and safety requirements outlined in the Government's COVID-19 Protection Framework, in-person attendees are required to provide a valid My Vaccine Pass. Attendees will need to show their Vaccine Pass upon entry.

COVID-19 contact tracing
Track your movements by turning on bluetooth tracing and using the NZ COVID tracer app. QR codes will be placed throughout the venue.

Hygiene practices
Once onsite at the event, please regularly wash your hands and use the hand sanitiser provided. Stay home if you feel unwell.

Face masks
Visitors may be required to wear face masks inside the venue. Signage outlining all entry requirements will be displayed at venue entry points and communicated to attendees prior to the event. Those who can’t wear a mandatory facemask for legitimate reasons will be permitted entry.

What happens if the Traffic Light protection framework changes colour?
To ensure the health and safety of all those involved, Callaghan Innovation is committed to hosting events that meet the requirements and recommendations outlined in the Government's COVID-19 Protection Framework.

If the event is unable to proceed as planned at the current traffic light, we'll contact you ASAP outlining our colour-specific plan and the options available to you. This includes options for those coming from regions outside Auckland with COVID restrictions. If you are unable to attend in-person due to COVID-19 we will discuss your options.

If we decide to run this event online only your registration will be converted to a virtual registration and you will be refunded the difference in cost. Attendees are responsible for any transport and accommodation costs that arise from COVID-19 level change.

Here is a general guide to protocols that will be in place at events under the traffic light systems. We will continue to update these protocols based on information from the government.

Please refer to our full event terms and conditions here.

Unfortunately not, so we recommend booking your travel early. There are hotel options close to the Aotea Centre, however we note there may be limited capacity as some are MIQ facilities. A full list of Auckland MIQ facilities can be found here.

For those who have purchased a virtual registration, we’ll be in touch with more details closer to the event, however remote access will be available through the Southern SaaS virtual lobby within the event app.

Approved session content will be made available post event. However, Southern SaaS is best experienced in person or in real-time if you’re attending virtually. So much of the value of Southern SaaS comes from networking and your interactions with speakers, partners and other attendees.

The Southern SaaS event app will be launched closer to the event. Once provided with access details, download and connect directly with other attendees and event partners, ask questions of our speakers, and keep up to date on the day with event notifications.

Bookable 15-minute 1:1 appointments are available with selected partners and presenters on day two of Southern SaaS, Thursday 24 March. 1:1 appointments are currently fully booked, however keep checking the website, or ask to be added to the waitlist. Appointments can be changed up until 12noon on Wednesday 16 March.
