The 2022 New Colombo Plan Scholars were announced at a virtual awards ceremony on 29 November, 2021.

About the New Colombo Plan

The New Colombo Plan is a signature initiative of the Australian Government that lifts knowledge of the Indo Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region.

The New Colombo Plan involves a scholarship program for the study of up to one year and internships or mentorships, and a flexible mobility grants program for both short and longer-term study, internships, mentorships, practicums and research.

Who can attend the event?

This awards ceremony broadcast is open to all successful Scholars, friends and family, university staff and anyone who is interested in the New Colombo Plan.

How do I watch the live broadcast on Monday 29 November?

The live broadcast will be streamed directly onto the home page of the website.

Do I need to download or install any information to be able to attend the event?

No. You do not need to download or install any software to participate. You only need to have access to the internet.

Is a webcam required?

A webcam is not required during the live broadcast of the award ceremony.

However, a webcam and microphone will be required for the closed Networking Rooms, allowing you to communicate with other scholars and invitees.

The networking component is by invitation only.

How do I access the networking rooms?

Following the live stream, you will be prompted to join your specific networking rooms based on your NCP host location.

A ‘Log In’ button will display on the day of the event on the home page which will take you through to your assigned networking room.

Where will the event be held?

This is an online event. You can join from your PC or Laptop, phone or tablet using either Chrome or Firefox browsers.

Can I invite my friends and family to attend the event?

Yes. You can share this weblink with any family or friends that would like to view the stream. Friends and family will only have access to the awards ceremony and not the networking rooms. Only scholars and official invitees will have access to the networking rooms.

The times for the live event is not convenient for me. Will there be a recording sent post event?

The recording will be available to view on this website homepage within 48 hours of the event.

What timezone is the broadcast held?

The broadcast will commence at 3:00pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time, on Monday 29 November 2021.

Do I need to register for this event?

Registration is not necessary but encouraged if you would like to receive a reminder about the event.
