Adelaide is Australia’s first National Park City, it is an UNESCO City of Music, a Festival Capital and – according to the Wall Street Journal – one of Australia's coolest cities.
The IAG2024 Conference will be located in the heart of the city at the University of Adelaide’s North Terrace campus. Every winter, the city streets and places around this campus are lit up at the Illuminate Festival, which brings together local, national and international artists to celebrate art, music, lights, and imagination.
The location also boasts a world class art gallery, museum, library, concert hall, and botanical gardens and all are highly accessible and walkable from the conference location.
Restaurants, cafés, bars, and shops along nearby Rundle Street and Rundle Mall are just a five-minute walk from the conference venue, as is the delightful Linear Park along the River Torrens.
There are multiple opportunities for self-guided explorations of the city, and its surroundings are complemented by interactive guided sessions within the conference program that will connect current geographical scholarship with place-based sustainability initiatives.
