Research Abstracts
The AVA Conference Program Committee is now accepting abstracts to present research as part of the 2025 AVA Conference Research Day. The abstracts can be recent research, clinical projects, or a case series or individual case report involving any aspect of veterinary science.
Abstracts accepted for presentation will be competing for two $5,000 prizes.
Research Abstract submissions close midnight, Friday 15 November 2024.
Submitted abstracts will have their authorship blinded and be peer-reviewed by a panel appointed by the AVA. All abstract submissions will be subject to review.
Abstract submissions that qualify, will be invited to present to delegates and judges at the ICC Sydney on Monday 12 May 2025, attend the Research Day sessions and be provided a free ticket to the Monday evening AVA Conference 2025 Welcome Event.
Research Poster Abstracts
The 2025 AVA Conference will hold an 'AVA Poster Competition' to provide an opportunity for veterinarians and researchers to gain recognition for their research or clinical work, build their professional profile and be eligible to win a prize.
Research Poster Abstracts will be competing for 4 prizes.
• Young Researcher Prize (student or graduate less than 3 years): $500
• Best overall poster:
o First Prize: $600
o Second Prize: $250
o Third Prize: $150
Applications close Friday 11 April 2025.
Poster abstract criteria:
1. Posters must focus on research, clinic case reports or case series in veterinary science reflecting cutting edge science or an advancement of knowledge.
2. At least one of the authors must be an AVA member.
3. Posters that have been presented at other conferences (especially international conferences) within the previous three years are encouraged.
4. The committee will respond to you after applications have closed on 11 April 2025.
5. Poster format: No larger than ‘B0’ 1000mm (W) x 1414mm (H)
