Australian Cattle Vets (ACV) come from private practice, government departments (including agriculture and quarantine services), research, pharmaceutical companies and more. They provide crucial services to the agricultural industry and rural communities. They play a key role in disease surveillance, securing our quarantine status and protecting ongoing productivity. Members also have a significant responsibility in managing and maintaining animal welfare.
But that’s not all…. Over 46% of ACV members work in mixed practice attending to small animal, equine and small ruminant clients also and more than a third are business owners. They are a diverse bunch who have a particular interest in cattle veterinary medicine but, most of all, they love the collegiality and opportunity to get together with other rural and regional vets that face the same challenges and caseloads that they do.
The ACV is one of the AVA's largest special interest groups with over 1,000 members across Australia.
