Post Competition Submissions will be open from Monday 1 February 2027 and will close on Monday 19 April 2027
Introduction
In collaboration with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS), the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) will be running a Research stream on Wednesday 19 May 2027, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).
The AVA Conference Program Committee is now accepting abstracts to present research as part of the 2027 AVA Conference Research Stream. The abstracts can be recent research, clinical projects, or a case series or individual case report involving any aspect of veterinary science.
The 2027 AVA Conference will be held Monday 17-Thursday 20 May, 2027.
The 2027 Conference theme is “Critical care, critical thinking,” and will explore the vital role veterinary professionals play in emergency and critical care, disaster preparedness, leadership, teamwork and decision-making across animal health systems.
From frontline clinicians and veterinary nurses to researchers, educators, industry leaders and government veterinarians, every role contributes to preparedness, response and recovery. By bringing these perspectives together, AVA Conference connects people, evidence and systems to support a capable, collaborative profession ready to respond when it matters most.
Global thought leaders in critical care and animal behaviour will join leading Australian experts to deliver a carefully curated program designed to advance veterinary science, strengthen professional capability and support personal growth.
AVA will also be holding its ever-popular Research Poster Competition providing an opportunity for veterinarians and researchers to gain recognition for their research or clinical work.
We are delighted that you are interested in being part of this year's conference. This portal allows you to submit either an abstract for the Research presentations or an image of your poster. Both options offer opportunities to compete for cash prizes.
