Welcome to Mercure Kooindah Waters Golf & Spa Resort.

Please read the following information which will assist you during your stay.

Reception & Housekeeping

Reception is open 24 hours daily.

Workshop Location

All workshop sessions will be held in the Kooindah Function Rooms inside the main building. Please check the exact room on the day.

Identification

Please wear your name tag at all times whilst in the resort during the workshop, particularly at all meal times. This will enable resort staff to identify you as part of the CUDOS group.

Meals

Breakfast and Lunches will be served in Karinya’s Restaurant.
Morning and afternoon tea will be served in the Breakout Area of Karinya’s Restaurant.
Dinner locations vary and will be advised on the day.

Buffet-style dining caters for vegans, vegetarians and pescetarians. Special meals have been arranged for those who requested them when registering & will be made available individually. If you have any concerns regarding food service, please see Vera Brinkel.

Internet Access

Wireless internet is available throughout the resort. However, please bring your own wireless access devices if you have critical work you will need to access or large amounts of data to download.

Resort Facilities

Facilities include an 18-hole championship golf course, Endota Day Spa, a heated indoor 20-metre lap pool, an outdoor recreational pool, gym, sauna and spa, tennis courts and a walking and running track.

Additional Charges

Purchase of additional food, alcohol or services should be settled directly at the time of purchase with the resort; i.e. these items are not to be charged to your room. The resort will accept credit cards and cash (please note, there is no ATM at the resort).

Checkout

Checkout time is 9.00am. Your luggage will be stored in a location to be advised until departure.

Parking

Parking is complimentary and available outside hotels rooms.

Local Facilities

The resort is located a 5-minute drive from the town centre of Wyong, which features small shops and a Coles supermarket, a chemist and doctor. In case of an emergency, Wyong Hospital is a 10-minute drive from the resort. Please ask reception staff for directions.

Travel

Organised Travel from Melbourne → Kooindah Waters Resort – Sunday 19 February 2017

People travelling from Melbourne will be flying into Newcastle airport on the afternoon of Sunday 19 February on either a Jetstar or Virgin flight. A pre-arranged coach will then transport delegates from the airport to the Kooindah Resort. If you are not aware of this arrangement, please contact Emma James (RMIT), Arnan Mitchell (RMIT) or Bill Corcoran (Monash) asap.

Organised Travel from Canberra → Kooindah Waters Resort – Sunday 19 February 2017

People travelling from ANU/Canberra will be travelling by pre-arranged bus transportation. If you are not aware of this arrangement, please contact Kathy Hicks (NLPC ANU) asap.

Organised Travel from The University of Sydney → Kooindah Waters Resort – Sunday 19 February 2017

People travelling from Sydney/The University of Sydney will board a coach at the designated departure point within the grounds of Sydney University at 1.00 pm. Please be there at least 20 minutes prior to departure. There will also be a passenger pick up at Chatswood Interchange. When registering for the Workshop, you will be able to reserve a seat on the coach and indicate your preference for a Chatswood pick up. Details of designated departure points at the University of Sydney and the Chatswood Interchange will be provided closer to the Workshop date.

Private Travel to Kooindah Waters Resort – Sunday 19 February 2017

If you are travelling independently by car or bike, there is a Visitor’s parking area in front of the Main Entrance to the Resort. You will be able to park your vehicle here until you pick up your room key. Parking spots will then be available outside your room/villa.

Arrival & Registration at the Workshop on Sunday 19 February

On arrival at the Resort, please enter via the Main Entrance and head right towards the Workshop Registration desk and pick up your registration pack which will include your room key. Barista coffee and light refreshments will be available in the foyer area. The Workshop will commence at 4.00 pm sharp so if arriving earlier, please feel free to take a quick swim in the pool or enjoy the Resort’s facilities.

Accommodation at Kooindah Waters Resort

Your accommodation for the evenings of Sunday 19, Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 is confirmed.

Minibus from Kooindah Waters Resort→ Newcastle Airport – Wednesday 22 February

For people travelling to Melbourne from Newcastle airport, a minibus will depart at 12.30 pm sharp after lunch from the front of the Resort. Expected time of arrival at Newcastle Airport is 1.30 pm (dependent on local traffic conditions) to connect with Jetstar and Virgin flights.

Coach from Kooindah Waters Resort → Sydney University – Wednesday 22 February

For those people wanting to travel back to Sydney, coaches will depart at 1.00 pm and arrive back to the University of Sydney at approx. 3.00 pm. One coach will make a drop off at Chatswood.
