Pre-Conference study visit group A ( FULL)

Leangdai Community Pre-School and Taprok Community Pre-School



Leangdai Village is one of the eight villages in Leangdai commune, Angkor Thom district. It is located approximately 20 km away from Siem Reap province (30 minutes by car). Most of the people living in this area are farmers and the main household’s incomes are rice crop and domestic animal feeding. The access to electricity is limited to the main road (Korea Road) thus most families need to use batteries for lighting.

Angkor Formal Pre-School


Angkor Preschool (5 minutes car ride from Conference venue has been established in late 1979 enrolling children from three to five years old. For the academic year 2016-2017, there are 477 (255 girls) children in three levels: 1-Lower Level with 4 classes 2-Medium level with 7 classes 3-High level with 7 classes

Sotr Nikum Formal Pre-School and Beng Community Pre-School


Located in the Kok Moun Village, Dam Dek Commune, Sotr Nikum District, Siem Reap Province (40-45 minutes by car) Sotr Nikum Formal Pre-School: While an old wooden is building still in use, Sotr Nikum Formal Pre-school, with funding support by Global Partnership for Education (GPE 2), had constructed a new building in October 2016. It has since been in full operation till present. Current Situation of the Beng Community pre-school Two classes of pre-schools are operated. First class is for children aged of 5, and there are 22 children in this class. Second class is for children aged from 3 to 4 years and there are 25 children.
