Spiritual Care Australia 2021

Workshop and seminar presentations by SCA members and colleagues are an important and popular part of our national SCA Conference.

The SCA Conference Committee calls for submissions of abstracts for workshops or seminars that are relevant to one or more of the following streams planned for the 2021 Conference:

  • Arrivals, Departures, Delays and Detours
strategies and practices for self-care, exhaustion, anxiety, stress, burn out, compassion fatigue, end of life care

  • Companions along the way
supervision, Clinical Pastoral Education, working with teams, caring for the staff/carer
  • Navigating the terrain
Spiritual care provision, research, voluntary assisted dying, abortion laws, aged care reform, rituals, technology

  • Obstacles across the road
complex trauma, mental health resourcing, economic challenges and opportunities, moral and ethical dilemmas

  • Roads less travelled
    finding the way forward

  • Where to from here?
innovation in spiritual care, new understandings, emerging trends and models

What are you doing or learning or researching in your place that will help your colleagues as they turn their attention towards finding their way in the landscape of contemporary spiritual care?

Submissions will be welcome from all sectors of spiritual care such as aged care, community care, crisis / emergency, defence, education, general health care, mental health care, prisons, sports, etc.

  • What is the importance of research and evidence?
  • As we travel into the spiritual care profession of the 21st century, what will help us find the roads we need to take?

Workshops are part of the answer. Workshops and seminars open our minds, clear our vision, give us new language, and prepare us to try new paths.

We encourage you to consider presenting a workshop or seminar at our 2021 conference. All workshops will be one hour in length and are expected to have some interactive elements to achieve their learning goals. Seminars will also be one hour in length and are expected to be less interactive.
