Recent breakthroughs in the accessibility and capability of generative artificial intelligence (AI) have the potential to accelerate changes in the way we work, produce information and interact with technology. AI models are now outperforming human benchmarks in a growing range of tasks, which unlocks new opportunities for reinvention and transformation, as well as new risks to navigate.

Over 70% of CEOs believe that Generative AI will significantly change their business in the next three years and, now more than ever, Australian businesses need to invest to remain competitive (PwC’s CEO Survey, 2024).

We’ve designed a morning of specialist complimentary masterclasses - facilitated by our leaders in AI, data, cloud, transformation, regulation, workforce strategy and digital upskilling - to help Australian businesses take the next step. Click 'Register' to select your preferred masterclasses.

Keynote

Incorporating AI into your business strategy

Facilitated by Scott LikensScott McLiver, Tom Pagram and John Studley.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has turned a corner. Its latest manifestation, generative AI, offers powerful, ultra-accessible new capabilities to business. And the race to put them to work is already underway.

This session will look at business-led approaches to get moving with AI. It will provide real world examples and practical tips for integrating AI transformation initiatives within your enterprise strategy, how to identify areas where AI can support your strategic priorities, and a framework for investment governance.

Masterclass 1

Architecting for Generative AI at-scale

Facilitated by Jahanzeb Azim, Soumyadip Pal, Rob Kopel, Lucille Hardouin and Beena Rao.

For stakeholders in data, technology and analytics functions and business product owners

Gain actionable insights and experience to drive innovation and propel your organisation forward in this dynamic realm of Generative AI technology.

This immersive session dives deep into architectural components of Generative AI including key components and ingredients required to harness the power of Generative AI at scale.

The session includes fundamentals on modes of adoption, exploration of infrastructural considerations, overview of cloud based solutions for scalable GenAI, importance of data quality, preparation, management and governance, best practices and a few live demos to bring concepts to life.

Masterclass 2

Getting your workforce ready for Generative AI

Facilitated by Jen Hookey and Greg Kent.

For strategy, transformation and people leaders.

The sheer speed, scope and impact of technological change is challenging business — and society at large — in fundamental ways. From workforce strategy and engagement through to upskilling and AI literacy, you need your entire workforce to understand and embrace innovation and thrive in a digital world - underpinned by a cultural foundation that embraces and rewards creativity. In this session, we’ll explore the impacts of Generative AI on the workforce, and share our learnings and experience from upskilling our global PwC workforce and supporting other large organisations in doing the same.

Masterclass 3

Governing AI and staying ahead of regulation

Facilitated by Tom Pagram, Adrian Chotar, David Ma and Annie Zhang.

For audit, risk and compliance leaders, and non-executive directors.

In January, the Australian Government announced its intention to regulate the use of AI in high-risk settings, and in February ASIC called for regulatory reform to better address potential risks arising from AI misuse.

The race to put Generative AI to work is well underway in most organisations, but for most, existing AI governance and model risk management frameworks aren’t set-up for the pace of adoption, the emergence of foundation models and the diversity of use cases that Generative AI has triggered.

Organisations need to strike the right balance between prudence and urgency. In this session, we will explore the case for moving fast while thinking slow to manage the risks, including practical tips, case studies and frameworks for modernising your approach to AI governance and risk management.
