All Abstracts and Posters are to be submitted electronically using this submission portal.

1. Review your user profile to ensure it is accurate and complete
2. Click the 'Sumbissions' tab to enter your abstract or poster
3. Follow the instructions to enter your submission
4. When all information is complete, please submit
5. You can navigate through this site using the buttons on the top bar

Research presentation abstracts

Authors should ensure that the following criteria are met in their Research Presentation Abstract submission:

1. Research presentation and accompanying abstract must focus on research, clinic case reports or case series in veterinary science reflecting cutting edge science or an advancement of knowledge.
2. All the information to be presented must be in the abstract
3. Blinded (authors and affiliations removed) and unblinded abstracts are to be presented according to format guidelines and submitted via the submission portal.
4. Any advertisements for commercial products must not be included; however, it is acceptable to mention registered drug names and dose rates if they are critical to the information presented
5. Authors will be notified via email if their abstract has been accepted after 1 Feb 2025.
6. To be eligible for the Research Presentation Competition prize of $5,000 the presenting author must be an AVA Member

Research poster abstracts

Authors should ensure that the following criteria are met in their Research Poster Abstract submission:

1. Posters must focus on research, clinic case reports or case series in veterinary science reflecting cutting edge science or an advancement of knowledge.
2. At least one of the authors must be an AVA member.
3. Posters that have been presented at other conferences (especially international conferences) within the previous three years are encouraged.
4. The committee will respond to you after applications have closed on 19 April 2025.
5. Poster format: No larger than ‘B0’ 1000mm (W) x 1414mm (H)

Information on prizes

Research Presentation Abstracts that meet the above criteria and are accepted for presentation will be competing for two $5,000 prizes. One prize will be available to AVA members with specialist qualifications or higher degree holders (Masters and PhD). The second prize will be available to AVA members who are  interns, residents and generalist clinicians.

Research Poster Abstracts that meet the above criteria and are accepted will be competing for four Prizes.

The Prizes consists of:

• Young Researcher Prize (student or gratudate less than 3 years): $500
• Best overall poster
  • First Prize: $600
  • Second Prize: $250
  • Third Prize: $150
