Lead a session

A strength of ATEM 2023 will be the sessions led by people like you: working in the tertiary education sector, sharing your skills and knowledge with peers. The call for session proposals is now open.

Convince the boss

Keen to attend but unsure about how to approach your manager for support?

We've prepared a draft email for you to customise and send to the boss, setting out why you should attend ATEM 2023.

Partner with the conference

ATEM 2023 brings together a breadth of sector leaders and specialists, but it can’t happen without our partners and sponsors.

This year’s conference has connection, innovation and engagement at its core. We are keen to support sponsors and partners in sharing your insights and strengths, whilst learning from our presenters and experts. There are many opportunities to participate including presenting breakout sessions, supporting key activities and creating a conference experience that is truly memorable.

Why sponsor? Visibility, access and participation.

Sound interesting? Let’s talk. To learn more about our personalised approach to partnership or if you have a BRAVE idea about how you would like to be part of ATEM 2023, please contact Maria Backlund on 0409 996 294 maria.backlund@atem.org.au

Sing yourself BRAVE

Everybody has a voice but sometimes we aren’t sure how to use it.

The ATEM 2023 Conference Choir is about community and connection and has nothing to do with whether we ‘can sing or not’.

Suitable for: anyone who’d like to have a go

Bring along: your voice and a water bottle

Practice sessions will be held on each day of the conference: check the conference app for details and location

Performance: during the closing plenary session, Friday afternoon

Come along to one or more of our singing/choir sessions and find out how your voice can work with others. You will hear how a group can be greater than the sum of the parts.

Singing leader James Rigby is a highly skilled and experienced arts practitioner especially in the areas of community music, choir direction, teaching, music performance, festival management, and project management. He has a 25-year full-time career as a community music and choir teacher. He has taught groups across Australia, the UK and Japan.

He has led the Boite Millennium Chorus in the Hamer Hall in Melbourne and the Port Fairy Festival Choir for 15 years. James has worked in close collaboration with the local Aboriginal community as well as with prominent Aboriginal musicians from all around Australia.

In this workshop we will learn how to listen to the room and to place our voice in the space.

We’ll sing songs that reflect and respond to the opportunities that we bring to the conference and clear our minds from some of the noise that prevents us from thinking clearly.

The sessions will all be a bit different but will also build on earlier sessions so delegates can attend single sessions or all of them.

The participants may have the opportunity to perform to the other conference delegates.
