The ATEM Conference is designed as a positive, safe, inclusive experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion.

We will not tolerate harassment in any form at conference-related events, conference venues, or on the conference’s digital platforms and channels.

Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or asked to leave the conference without a refund, at the discretion of the conference organisers.

Harassment includes:

• Offensive verbal, visual and written communication related to gender, gender identity, and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size race, age, or religion
• Sexual images in public spaces
• Deliberate intimidation, stalking or following
• Harassing photography or recording
• Sustained disruption of talks or other events
• Inappropriate physical contact
• Unwelcome sexual attention
• Advocating for or encouraging any of the above behaviours
   

Harassment reduces the value of the conference for all. We each have a role to play in keeping our communities safe.

ATEM retains the right to take any appropriate action to ensure that the conference is a welcoming environment for all. If you are asked to stop any harassing behaviour at the conference, you are expected to comply immediately. You may receive a warning, or you may be expelled from the conference with no refund.

If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please report it as soon as possible.

When receiving a report, we will ensure you are safe and cannot be overheard.

Investigating and following up a report may involve members of the Organising Committee.

Our team will be happy to help you contact hotel/venue security, local law enforcement, local support services, provide escorts, or otherwise assist you to feel safe for the duration of the conference.
