For all participants

All correspondence, enquiries and requests for changes should be emailed to atem2023@bkaevents.com.au.

If you are unable to attend the conference

If you are unable to attend the conference, you may transfer your paid registration to another person. Email a request to atem2023@bkaevents.com.au.

If you are unable to attend, and you do not wish to transfer your registration to somebody else, then you may cancel your conference registration by emailing a request to atem2023@bkaevents.com.au. Include the reason you wish to cancel, and attach any supporting evidence. All cancellations will incur a cancellation fee of $150 including GST.

If you are unable to attend the conference because it is unlawful, eg due to quarantine restrictions, or for reasons beyond your control (eg natural disaster), then you may be entitled to a partial refund.

For all other cancellations, a 50% refund is available only if you cancel your registration at least 30 days before the start of the conference. Within 30 days, no refund will be provided however, you may transfer your paid registration to another person.

Cancellation or postponement by the organiser

ATEM may cancel or postpone the conference at any time, for any reason. We will notify you by email if this occurs.

If the event is cancelled, you will receive a full refund of all monies paid to date.

If the event is postponed, and you cannot or do not wish to attend at the new date, you may cancel your registration and receive a full refund.

Travel and accommodation arrangements

ATEM and its partner organisations are not responsible for your travel or accommodation. All such arrangements and costs are your responsibility and risk.

Conference principles and policies

As a conference participant you agree to adhere to the conference principles and policies:

  3. Information privacy

For presenters (leaders of concurrent sessions)

All presenters of concurrent sessions must agree to the conditions outlined below.

Presenters of concurrent sessions should represent a tertiary education institution. If a session is co-presented with a commercial vendor or partner, the higher education representative must be the lead author and presenter.

Sessions must be presented by the named authors. Proxies will not be permitted except in an emergency such as ill health. All speaker changes and additions must be communicated to the organisers as early as possible.

The Organising Committee reserves the right to accept or refuse any proposal. The committee may ask you to revise a session proposal to strengthen the overall program design.

All presenters must register and pay to attend the conference. The deadline for presenter registration is 24 September 2023. After that date, sessions by unregistered presenters will be removed from the conference program.

Presenters are responsible for ensuring their sessions acknowledge the diversity of the tertiary education sector and provide equitable access for all participants.

Presenters are responsible for obtaining appropriate copyright permissions for all presentation materials, including data, fonts, images etc. Citations and image credits must be included where appropriate. Handouts, slide decks and other materials may be published on the conference website.

An ATEM representative may take photos or record video while a session is in progress. Images and video footage will be used for conference-related communications, post-conference highlight packages, and the promotion of future conferences.
